Taking a moment to stir the pot.

In the movie Captain Corellie's Mandolin, in the beginning of the movie one of the men was close to deaf and the doctor removed a foreign object from his ear. At the end of the movie he was begging the doctor to put it back in because his wife yelled at him all the time.

So.... Studies have shown that women speak about twice as many words in a day as most men do. With these things in mind; I too would like to read many responses to Richard's question. Would you be willing to learn sign language? Would you be willing to find other outlets for verbal communication and still Love deeply someone who is not able to communicate with you on the same level as you are?

Richard: whatever answers that are given I hope that you know that God's sovereign plan for your life is perfect. Be Blessed. r

As a woman that is blind, the person that would want to get to know me has to be open minded enough to do so. I mean, I'm not that different from others and nither are you Richard. People that are deaf or blind or are in wheelchairs can do things we may just do them differently than those who have full hearing, sight or can walk.

I wouldn't mind learning sign language if the person wouldn't mind teaching me. :)

I hope this helps God bless!

Apparently most women ARE looking for Mr. Right so the slightest flaw will make them skip a guy's profile in a heartbeat.

Yes you might be right about that, women looking for Mr Right. Just like Men looks for attractive women, the good looking ones. I guess it might be to with humans being selfish, we want to receive more than to give. As it says, is more bless to give than to receive. Including myself, that I am selfish, looking for good looking woman. Well I made my 600th try on a woman and the 600th time it was rejected. I just hope that it doesn't reaches the devils number. Well I try to narrow my search, but just haven't found one that would take me on. Am I the unluckiest guy in the world? Well I do think that God has someone for me, a godly wife. I haven't given up, but I have faith in God.

Being partially deaf should not take away your personality. If a person has a nice personality, Godfearing man, you have enough in common and you both feel that God is pairing you two together, it wouldn't matter. I don't always go by looks. You could be the perfect person for someone and not the perfect person for another. Hope this makes sense.

This shouldn't be a problem if two people are compatible.

I would rather live with a deaf person who is loving, caring and there for me,than live with one hearing well but arrogant,proud,uncaring....guy.

Richard keep trusting in our God,He has good plans for you and I believe there is someone very special for you.

Lukia I mean no offense but your answer sounds like the generic (and obvious) answer a women here would give.

Of course you would rather live with a deaf person who is loving, caring and there for you, than live with one hearing well but arrogant, proud and uncaring.

The problem is that 99% of the women here are looking for the guy who hears well AND is loving, caring and there for them aka Mr. Right.

No one seems to give anyone a chance to see past the flaws, because they always believe that someone with the same great personality, but without the flaw, is out there.

I sure hope partially deaf guys have a hope because I'm borderline for needing hearing aids. That doesn't bother me too much - people can repeat themselves - however as I've been like this from birth, I have a terrible lithp (sorry, lisp) and that's what I feel kills my chances. Or it might if I even got as far as meeting up with someone; even though those issues aren't mentioned on my profile, no eligible women seem interested in even reading it...

I think everyone has a hope however a lot of it has to do with how a person (man or woman) presents themselves. If they are confident and love themselves then it's a lot easier to attract people because people look for that whether they do it consciously or not!
