Admin	would you date a man with a criminal record? Posted : 4 Jan, 2014 10:32 PM Not a petty crime but something serious like rape/murder. What if a guy did something like that in his past, served time, and has now received Christ and changed his life? Would you ladies give such a guy a chance? (just a curious question. I don't think it's back and white without know the person, especially their walk with Y-shua... There are so many factors was it 6mo ago, 20 years ago... you get the picture.... Was it murder in the first degree, or second degree... was it someone 20 who had sex with someone 16 and they stayed together when he got out, or did he put a knife to her and beat her and it was brutal.... Posted : 11 Jan, 2014 04:00 AM aren't murder and rape punishable by death or lifetime imprisonment? pardon is awarded after serving the minimum sentence i would not consider an inmate but a changed and free man has all the chances to start anew and finish strong which may include a blessed family of his own. To God who is able to transform lives, the past will just fade away when he pours out His grace to surrendered souls. mcube is right, there are other variables to consider but the main is the person's status before God. His blessed life in and out of jail should render his criminal record insignificant. personally, i would not date him because of his age LOL 20-40 years of imprisonment is LONG and those who reached 70 years old are the ones first in line for pardon. The reason being that some part of me would still be afraid and at the back of my mind would have the 'what if' questions...like "is he still capable of repeating the same things?" However, maybe there may be other determining factors but the truth is that many would 'fear' taking the risk. ( Lets call a spade a spade!). Not to say that such a person may not totally have changed and repented and mended their ways. #Just my thoughts. I wouldn't consider unless it is just petty offences, but not murder, rape and the likes. Post Reply
