Wedding vows.........

Ok ladies, we've all had discussions at some time or another, with each other about "the vows"(smile)! Some prefer the traditional vows, some prefer, coupled with their fianc, to write their own.

Of course the traditional vows are steeped in God's will for a Christ-centered union. Society today, as it has with most time-honored traditions, has all but changed, what to me, has been sacred all along.....

My question is do you feel that the traditional wedding vows speaks loud and clear of God's ideal will for a man and women embarking in holy matrimony and shouldn't be changed or do you feel in these present times, it's ok to tweak it to fit individual beliefs, needs and tastes?

After our recent discussion about the fall of men in Eden, i'd rather keep it in God's way.

I'd have my vows traditionally.

HisJoy,

I prefer the traditional vows as well.

But there is one tning that I would like included in my wedding ceremony--should I ever have one: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 read.

I saw a Christian movie recently, and the wedding ceremony was the first scene. The minister used a colorful tripple-woven cord and placed it around the couple, signifying the union was of the couple plus Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 4:12b says, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

I thought that ceremony was beautiful, and would like it in my own.

The movie is titled, "Not Easily Broken," if anyone wishes to rent it.

Blessings,

--Cat

Thats funny, I have never thought about it. When I got married it was before the justice of the piece ( I married a non-Jew so no one gave me their blessing). I honestly dont know. This is a lousy answer but it probably will deepened on how I fell at that time if I ever get marred againlol

This a good question.

I would do it the traditional way.The traditional vows are good because its the way God wanted the christian to live.
