Matthew 22:11-12
Posted : 30 Oct, 2013 08:55 PM

11 "But when the King came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless."

Does the Holly Spirit reveals to you dear what the King meant about the wedding garment?

Please share the revelation with me so I can understand. You don't have to only stick to verse 11&12, you're more than welcome to share your understanding of the intire Parable of the Wedding Feast.

May God bless you as you share what He reveals to you on this!!

If you sent out invitations to a party with a dress standard and someone showed up dressed inappropriately, you might ask them to leave.

This parable is a parallel to entrance into Heaven. God has identified the dress requirement, all who enter Heaven must be covered by Christ's blood. Anyone who shows up without the covering will be denied entry.

Hiya, Sisygirl!

Teach is right. It refers to an invited guest who refused to wear--in this parable's case--the required wedding clothes for the banquet.

This parable is a an analogy for admittance into Heaven. Just as the wedding garments are required for guests of the King's wedding banquet, so also are we requred to be coverd in Christ's blood for admittance into Heaven.

And, what explanation could anyone come up with for not having the required 'clothing' of being covered with Christ's blood? What could we say in our defense, when God's Word is so clear, and gaining the Gift of Salvation is so EASY? All we have to do is BELIEVE in God's Son and what He's done for us out of His abundant Love for us, and it is ours.

There is a story--it's a joke, really--of this minister who got caught in a hurricane, and when the flood waters came, he climbed atop his church roof. He prayed God would rescue him, and waited patiently.

The Coast Guard came by in a boat and told him to "Climb aboard, we'll take you to safety," but the minister said, "No, my Lord will save me! I have faith in Him."

Then, the Army National Guard came with by with another rescue boat and a life-vest, begging him to come with them so they can bring him to safety. But the minister again refused, insisting "My Lord will save me. I know He will come!"

Finally, the Coast Guard sent a helicopter to lift him off his church roof and take him to safety, and the minister again refused, and waved the helicopter off.

The flood waters eventually overtook his church, and the minister died by drowning.

Suddenly, he found himself in front of St. Peter at the gates to Heaven, and the minister asked, "Why did my Lord not save me from the flood?"

St. Peter replied, "Dude! He sent you TWO BOATS AND A HELICOPTER, but you refused!"

LOL, I love that joke! God bless, sister Sisygirl! Hugs!

Thank you so much ladies for your replies and yes Cat there's nothing more easy like getting ones name registered in the book of life. Little did I know that the Parable refers to Jesus' blood as coverage when speaking of the 'garment'

God really is great and deep hey, He's Spirit can reveal great stuff in our little minds. I'll humbly share my understanding of this Parable as He's Spirit was helping me to get an idea of what He meant by the Parable. Think it would be selfish and unfair of me to withhold from you when you've opened up to my request.

Here's how I got it:

Verse1... Refers to Jesus Christ Himself as the King's son, the King is God the father. Different servants being sent to to call those invited to the wedding refers to different man and woman of God testifying about Jesus' return and repentance from sin.

Verse6 about the King's servants being seized, treated spitefully and being killed refers to those like John the baptist being persecuted to a point of death for the sake of 'Goodnews.'

Those referred to as 'unworthy of the invitation' refers to those who hear the Gospel preached about Jesus, but refusing to accept Him, as He now considers the 'Gentails' to invite to the wedding.

The 'garment' is fruits of repentance as access to the Kingdom after one has been saved. That's why John the Baptist challenged the Pharisees to bear fruits of repentance.

Thank you so so much ladies for opening my mind through your input on this question. God bless!!

Your reply Teach has taken me back to our long chatt about Jesus' blood, when I confused 'Holly communion' with the garment of protection. Do you still recall on my last reply when I refered to Jacob marking he's portion of livestock separating he's own from Laban's,

I then said "Jacob's example of the seal on he's portion of livestock.... Livestock that Laban was chasing after but could not touch because of the mark made on them by Jacob, that represents us 'christians' in the hour of brouble when God shall tell the devil not to touch He's anointed ones' unless he (the devil) finds any among God's chosen without the mark of the lamb either as a garment or on our foreheads."

Maybe I failed to explain right what I meant back then as I was carrying on about the mark of the seal.

Ladies you are amazing.... You've been a blessing in my life. Please don't ever cease to help me out whenever I need help in understanding God's word, and any other issue of life. I know very little about God and I seek to understand Him better and you are very helpful darlings.... Thank you once more!!
