Does the nature of our gender work to our disadvantage?

Just thinking ladies & interested in hearing your views on this one.

Componys' are doing anything & everything to cut/reduce costs, we'd rather make instead of loosing money since that's the very reason we're on the market from the first place. The issue now is that we woman are in the top of the list of "costs/expences" considered to be minimized.

From the business point of view I DO understand that at times our nature does affect productivity, in a case when a lady is pregnant which is far more likely that one, two or more ladie are pregnant at the same time. Entitled to atleast 3months payed leave, which can be even more than 3months depending on the number of days she still has access to if she hasn't been taking her leaf.

Someone new must be hired & trained to replace her when she's gone. Now its two people to be payed at once.

There's onother concern of constant days off when concieving & in early days of pregnancy. (apparently ladies our first 3months are crucial) since our system is affected by this change taking place within our body. Most often one gets sick & needs to be home until fit enough to be able to work 8hours a day atleast, depending on the total number of hours worked in a day.

Business wise,

I really get it my daer ladies, we can turn to be a little hectic.

Though again i'm a female/woman now,

Who understands the importance of providing for ou families,

Not to mention this being our nature, a season of 9months that stands to be hectic till the very end depending how ones body reacts to her personal experience since we're not the same.

What is your thinking on this...?

Sisygirl,

I imagine it's different in your part of the world...here in the US we have many laws to protect women in this situation...and the challenges do not end at delivery!

Women with their husbands should think through how to approach this matter. It does affect a woman's career...so consideration for will both need to work, when Ina careeris a 'good' time to be out of the office for a period of time, how will daycare be managed, who stays home when the child is sick, etc.

One of the men on my team at work saved up his leave and spent several weeks at home when his son was born. I work with men who alternate sick days with their wives.

I know many successful women with children...and successful children.

Thanks Teach for sharing your thought on this, its always great dear sis' hearing from you.

Not really clue'd up about law on such cases, just trigured an interest in me to reseach further about such matters (not concerning work related issues only, but for my personal interest too) I love being clue'd up since God dispises ignorance.

This hasn't been given a go ahead just yet, still under discussions since its a broader matter with much to bear in mind before final decision can be taken, cause decision taken should be rooted on facts.

Its very thoughtful of your males colligues' to reserve their leaves so they can be helpful with kids home when necassary. It takes a passionate man about he's family to do that.

Which reminds me of one Sunday service during the month June (June its fathers' month in SA)

Fathers were asked to stay with kids at the kids/babies room, no father was allowed in the auditorium in that Sunday, only those we didn't know they are fathers/having kids within the church got away. (though that's onother subject all together)

Thanks again dear for your input on this subject!
