Hello Ladies,

Do any of you desire to be a stay at home mom? Do you ever feel embarrassed to say it even to other Christians?

I turned 40 this year and changed my preference on having kids to open/undecided. If I did I would want to stay home and raise them myself.

OH yes. I feel women are pushed more and more to be career women and belittled for being a homemaker/stay at home mom. And it can be embarrassing to tell people you want to stay home and raise children. Been there, done that.

Yes I wish everyday that I could be with my babies all day everyday...it's nice to have a break but honestly I am 21 and I don't want to miss ANYTHING in their lives. The world has made it where it is to the point that women should or need to work. Like me for instance, I have to work to support my kids.

Jesus, tells us to suffer the little children to come unto Him because such is the Kingdom of heaven.

I highly respect women because you are the caretakers of the next generation.

No, parents (both sexes) are the caretakers of the next generation. It is not, and should not be, the sole preserve of the woman to raise children.

Amen Brother DKJ.. that is a spot on observation and a nice catch! Too many men are abdicating their responsibilities to their wives these days. That is not Biblical manhood.

Sorry if you missunderstand me but being a care taker and raising children are the same thing.

Do you men plan on staying home with your children and be care takers while your wife provides for the family?

There is nothing wrong with being a stay at home dad. My dad was one, while my mom was the main breadwinner, we didn't have a choice due to extenuating circumstances, but being a stay at home parents is an honourable profession, whether you are mom or dad. I would love to be a stay at home mom when I have kids, but it todays economy that is not always an option.

What was trying to say is raising children and careing them are not the same thing.

Their are parents who place their children in the charge of day cares to care for their childen.

I was simply giving my appreciation for women who stay home as caretakers of their children.

I do notice that many people in this world do not view women who can/want to be homemakers seriously. I used to be blessed with the ability to do that, and I loved it and took great joy in it. I hope to find a partner who supports and thinks highly of my desire to do so. It's important that a child be raised by it's parents when possible.
