What's more important the physical appearance or one's inner self?

I run across women who are looking for guys who are deeper than a puddle but when they encounter someone who is "nice" they tend to shy away.... why is that? So that's my question what's more important what a guy looks like or who he truly is on the inside?

With anyone I encounter, the inner self is more important. It just takes longer to "see" a person's character and beliefs.

Definitely the inside for me. There's only so much a pretty package can offer you. Seeing a man with Godly character makes him attractive to me.

Time has a way of eroding physical beauty. Inner beauty though, tends to becomes more brilliant and radiant with time.

Have you ever seen a face that seemed just plain homely? Then you got to know the person and suddenly realized how beautiful/handsome that person is? Their inner soul shines through.

Think of a piece of incredible cake. You slice it off, but in transport it becomes a little banged and bruised up. Do you really care? It is still just as delicious. On the other hand, we have all had that gorgeous pastry that simply looking at it makes a person salivate. One bite leaves though you grasping for water to rinse the nasty flavor from your mouth. So it is with people.

As a final note.....we are talking about the children of God here. Do you REALLY want to tell God any ofhis children are homely?

Blessings,

Elisa

even the most beautiful woman or the most handsome man would turn into an ugly duckling later on in life. time would manifest in our faces and other body parts and we'll all look like wrinkled bread but inner beauty would never fade. it will help us get through the bad times and make relationships continue to progress forever :)

in my experiences, i've learned that most of the "hot" guys are not what you want to truly be involved with. sure, i think anyone is first attracted to someone by their looks. but that's mainly just lust. and i'm NOT saying all hot guys are that way, because i know its not true...but in MY experience it is. i would much rather an average looking guy who is AMAZING on the inside & who i KNOW will treat me right. :)

Amen!

The outside will not last, a beautiful heart and the love of Christ is the most beautiful thing in a man or woman. Look for the character instead of the packaging.

I think one's inner self is definitely more important than their physical appearance. As they always say, you can't judge a book by its cover. Some of the best looking people ever could have the worst personality on the inside, and likewise, some of the plainest, homeliest people could be the kindest, sweetest people. You can never tell what a person is like until you get to know them for who they are on the inside. Of course, I think we are all guilty of judging by first impressions sometimes, which is why we all try to look our best for the first date! :) But, I believe, that when you truly love someone for who they are on the inside, they will be the best looking person in the world in your opinion, no matter what their physical appearance really is.

I've been in a lot of relationships. A lot of hopes and dreams. I think physical and inner beauty are equally important in a relationship. Love, passion, it's like a fire. Inner beauty is the fuel that keeps it burning, but physical beauty is the spark that lights the flame. Then again, I don't view physical beauty as the world does. I'm not a makeup and fancy clothes... whatever. But being attracted to someone's body, eyes, skin, smile, smell, movements. Chemistry is just as important. Feedback?

both are important , but in different percentages

the innner beauty is important but we cant over look the physical attraction too .Speaking for my self , i must be attarcted to the person totally not only physically, but also on an intellectual and spiritual level.

in my opinion , even if the person is not 100% prince charming, if u get to know him from inside , the more u know , like and respect him , the more physicaclly attractive that person becomes to us .

so i would give 60 % for inner beauty and 40 % for physical appearance.

Physical attraction and chemistry are just other ways of saying lust of the flesh. I don't want to sound harsh, but it is time for "Christians" to wake up and quit giving in to worldly things.

The flesh is never satisfied. It always wants more, and when there is no more...it wants different. Then the cycle starts all over again. Think about this, even Christian marriages have a 51% divorce rate. Exactly the same as the rest of this country.

I thought we were commanded to separate ourselves from these things. To be different, to hold ourselves to a higher standard. We can't do that as long as we keep viewing things like the world does.

Blessings,

Leon
