Is hiking really a good first date activity?

I'm asking this because I'm afraid I might have scared someone off by asking. She had brought up about how she had been wanting to go to a trail around where I lived. I told her I didn't live to far from there and that if she were interested I would be up with going hiking with her. Later that night I looked and she never got back to me and had deleted her profile. She said she really enjoyed talking with me and all in the last message she had sent me. So I wasn't sure if it was something else I had said (someone else read it and said they didn't see anything wrong with my message). I know some people had said that since there are alot of creeps online that hiking may not be a good first date idea with walking in the woods and all. I never had any intentions of being a creep or anything, but I guess the problem with online dating is that people can only read the words on a screen and not the intentions of said person.....

Depending on where it is you may go hiking, hiking alone might be a mistake, unless you're going with others in a group.

Yeah, wait until the relationship is well established before going hiking! If a guy I'd never met suggested that we go hiking, I'd disappear as fast as I could. I'm not typically a paranoid person, but there are way too many instances of young ladies going hiking and never coming back...their bodies are found later by other hikers.

However, hiking can be a great date activity once two people know each other. It's probably one of my favorite date activities. I have two or three favorite trails in the area, and I really enjoy sharing my favorite spots with a special guy.

I love, love, love hiking. It's a great activity because you are exercising, exploring, showing your adventurism and finally it is a laxative (-causing looseness - or - relaxation-) that allows you to get to know someone.

However, I must agree with everyone one else. It is not the safest first date for the female nor for you (some women ar cookoo!)

I'm pretty sure it was not your fault she left the site...

Unless (coming from a women's perspective...)

she was worried about mentioning to you that she lives around the area, maybe even passes by that place. Worried that not only did you see her picture, but she might bump into you...(phew!)

See, women are a special case!

My point is: we live and we learn.

Jehov bless you!
