Posted : 28 Jun, 2012 01:06 AM Hmm I don't think men should beat yourselves up over this age old conundrum as to whether nice guys really finish last syndrome. It happens to us girls too. I have been cast into the role of "friend" for so long it's not funny. And to try to dissect the myriad of reasons why this happens and you can be a gentleman and have manners and know how to treat women right and still you get cast into the friend zone only adds to your frustration. It sure adds to mine so I have whittled down my reasons for this happening an I have resigned myself to one; not everyone mat be attracted to me that way. Just because I hold dear to things that society deems unnecessary doesn't make me a prime candidate for anyone I set my eyes on. I can't speak for my gender as a whole but I can tell you for me what I want is a gentleman, a man who does know how to treat me the way God had intended, how am I going to recognize this by knowing my worth in Jesus. Someone who mirrors my Savior, faithful, honest a true worshiper. I love to laugh so someone who can appreciate the lighter side of life some one with a quick wit who I can banter with. There are a myriad of different things but all in all don't or try not to let this epidemic case get to you :) Post Reply

Every woman is different and wants differing things in men. Some want more manly men and some want more girly men. Where you cant go wrong is learning what the bible teaches about what a husband is to give in marriage and as you date women begin to understand what this means to women and talk about what it looks like to them. Learn a womans needs and learn through the Spirit of God how to fulfill these needs. Its a journey. Also learn the example of Jesus. Giving you a list of things to fabricate is not the answer, being the man is. Post Reply

As I begin to follow Christ, some of my wants changed. I'd go with the trusting God, following Him and being the man HE wants you to be. Just can't go wrong there. Post Reply

Any relationship built on what someone else wants you to be is going to turn resentful eventually, on one or both sides" While I understand the statement above, I'd like to add that, many times, a person (male or female) may be running off the opposite sex (or even same sex friendships) because he or she doesn't have certain social skills, communication skills, is too introverted, never smiles, dresses in unmatched clothes, or even something as simple as poor hygiene or bad breath. Some people have never been taught certain necessary life skills, or how to overcome shyness, or to use a mint. So, one can be oneself and be lonely, or one can improve oneself, making a new, improved, self and increase his or her social success rate. I, myself, had to overcome most of the list above, and some things I'm still struggling with (such as poor hygiene). Okay, I'm kidding about that parenthetical statement. Posted : 2 Jul, 2012 05:04 PM THere are a few things that most girls all want, may be a few exceptions but most Christian girls want and need: 1. A man to respect her body 2. See her soul and not see her as a commodity, she is a unique. 3. to ask her questions and show interest in what makes her smile, laugh, think, and what helps her be closer to Jesus. 4. to make things interesting, for some women that means an exciting walk up a mountain, to another a quiet night by the fire tosting marshmallows and pondering life(that would be me LOL) 5. Committment: to make a decison within 6 months to a year weather he feels she is the one he wants to marry, yes for CHristians, we dont believe in intmacy outside marriage so why drag things out for 5 years, some of us want children LOL. A man knows within 6 months to a year, he just doesnt always tell the truth. IF after investing 8 months or so, set her free to find her love if you arent gonna marry her, please dont tease her and wast her time, if you care for her, let her find love...to last...a husband. Here are a few of the qualities we look for in a mate. And each one is important so you can't put one over the other. They all blend in to make the whole package. Someone we are attracted to A total committed christian sold out to the Lord!! Honesty Trustworthy Integrity A heart of compassion for the hurting Someone willing to share their heart, not making you guess how they feel or what they will do next. Someone who will always keep their word (honesty) Okay this being said, go back and look over that list again. Post Reply
