I'm dealing with a bad food adiction and it needs to stop now. I'm just looking a someone to be there for me and encourage me. Any tips or advice would be helpful. Post Reply

Way to go :applause: There is a bond that grows when you go through something together with someone, totally relying on them, etc. The hunger growls are really a good reminder, everytime, why you are fasting and to talk to God in the middle of your busy day. If this is just a diet thing, I don't recommend it. It actually makes it harder to lose the weight. At either rate, you should be doing a couple of things: drinking plenty of water, take any required meds, definitely take vitamins and electrolites, or perhaps only fast those foods that are your arch-enemy, bringing them under submission in Jesus name. Keep in close contact with your doctor! A few days is fine, but that long?... My final tip would be ... sing! Find that song in your heart that is your love song to God... During this fast this will give you strength and allow the Lord to speak to your heart. We should have a Purpose in mind when fasting wether for someone else in mind or for our self Spiritually.
