No baby? But in your picture...

Why do some women without children include pictures of them holding babies in their profile shots? Also, why do so many people (men and women) include pictures of them with someone's hand on their shoulder (though the owner of the hand has been cropped out)?

Babies- because the photo was taken at a children's party? Or maybe they are trying to show they would be good moms.

Others- others are cropped out for the obvious reason, you want to see her, not the gorgeous exes because that would make any normal man jealous.

Which really begs the question, can someone (anybody) be available to take a photo of the woman, so the photos posted do not leave you thinking what is wrong with her?

Maybe because she has children in her life and happened to have a good picture of her that she wanted to share, and the kid happened to be in the picture with her...I don't see where the problem is with that.

I think the OP was taking about women whose profile states they have no children, but have pictures of someone's child in their profiles. It is confusing.

Most cases if they say they don't have a child then the baby is a niece/nephew or the child of a friend. A LOT of guys have pics of them with children too. It's kind of the general "look, I'm good with kids, consider me" thing.

yeah for real is it so hard to find a photo without your ex whatever cropped out of it? I've seen that too. Perhaps it is just friends who don't want to be seen on a dating site, but usually the cropped person is of the opposite sex so hmmmm...new photo time!!!

I look well at one picture out of thirty and often I have pictures with my nephews, it was difficult to find photos without kids but I somehow managed but sometimes it may be the only good picture people have....

I can't speak for everyone else, but I can answer this for me as I do it all the time on facebook. I don't have my own children, but I do want children. I'm not afraid to admit that.

Facebook is filled with pictures of my with various children. These are children I love - who are a huge part of my life. My nephews, my friends' kids (who for some are more like family), the kids I have nannied for (and are more like family), and kids from church families that I'm close too.

My sister and I live together and she loves kids too. We have both worked jobs with children. In addition to babysitting I have worked as a daycare teacher and as a nanny. I also volunteer with the kids programs at my church. Since my sister and I live together we know a lot of the same people. So it's common for us to have weekend sleepovers with various kids - our nephews, friends kids (it gives their parents a night to themselves), or the kids I nannied for.

All this to say, for me, I post pictures of myself with children on facebook because kids are my life and the kids in these pictures are like family usually. However, I haven not posted pictures with kids on this site as it is a dating site, but my guess is it may be why some people do. Just a thought.
