What do you ladies and guys think of short tempered guys who seem to go off like a ticking time bomb?

You see them on our roads most notably driving excessive speeds and honking like a raving maniac and you see them having a go at cashiers for getting their order wrong, etc.

From what I'm getting from these forums from you ladies is that you like these kinds of guys because they can stand up for themselves and act all tough like they don't take no faeces from anybody. Is that true or am I misinterpreting?

Using your definition, it sounds like those are the wife-beater types.

I think women should look out for those personality traits early on in a relationship and decide carefully. If something so small ticks a guy off, who can tell tell whether the guy will go off on the girl for any small reason?

Nobody likes people like that. What is your point in posting this?

I thought that you insinuated or implied this, but I did misinterpret since I did go back and see that you said: "right I didn't mean abusive jerk..."

I guess my point is: how could any of you ladies stand someone like that? (Of course i'm talking to the ones that do take a liking to these broodish, barbaric guys.) I mean it's disaster waiting to happen. To me a passive person would be considered civilized over the savage anger filled abusive jerk.

Honestly, neither is good. So it's not a case of better-than or at-least-he's-not-like-this. For a healthy relationship, a person needs a partner who can be assertive without being aggressive... or passive-aggressive. Which is what most passive people end up being, because they're passive. Either that or they have no personality whatsoever. It's easy to rage about the ragey people but it by no means makes someone who doesn't give enough of a cra.p about anything look better. As for how anyone can put up with it - I think those would be the passive people, tiptoeing around to make sure Ragey McAngrypants doesn't go off again. Or the dude himself is passive aggressive, with emphasis on the aggressive, and when he's not flying off the handle he's apologizing profusely and flattering the girl (or vice versa, because this can absolutely happen the other way too) and she thinks but he LOOOOOVES me and he didn't MEEEEAAAAN it. No. No. NO. None of those things.

Edit: REALLY? Cr.ap is censored? After all the euphemisms I ran through in my head before deciding on that one?

Could you describe the difference between aggressive and assertive?

I honestly don't know where to begin since they are completely difference concepts that are practically common sense - so I'm lost. It's like saying "describe how blue is different from red."

I don't know.

Look up the definitions, because I can't put together a sentence that doesn't use the words in the definitions.
