PURITY?

The single men and women, teens in my church are embarking on getting purity rings after some intensive study and prayer on the subject and what the bible (the final authority) says about it. Then we are coming together for a small prayer ceremony. this got me thinking... if you wore a purity ring what would it mean to you?

You might be reading this and think "Duh remain pure" but after reading many posts, conversing with many believers and reading blogs about Christian relationships and this matter there seems to be a disconnect. There actually seems to have "varying degrees" of purity. which baffles me exceedingly! In my mind it doesn't compute, what are you thoughts?

As a woman what does purity to you signify and would you make such a commitment?

I am in my mid 30s. After my last relationship I made a covenant with God that I would remain celibate until the time I marry, so to me that means that I am in a sense married to God. It sounds weird, I know. It is both a type of worship to God to offer my body as a sacrifice of purity.

I became a Christian at 18, and was a virgin then. I committed to God to remain pure. Though the marriage did not last, I was pure for and then faithful to my husband and he was the only one I've been with, even though it's been a couple decades since that fell apart.

I figure at some time your virginity is renewed! :yay:

No doubt that it is not a piece of cake to keep that vow when you're in love and in his arms, but Christian men (and women) need to know... it does not fall off if you don't use it! My future husband is going to be a very happy man! :excited: Just sayin'
