Are some of the advertisements on here inappropriate for a "christian"?

I know my eyes aren't always going to see what's best and especially being a man, sometimes it's better if I look the other way. In the case of some of the advertisements on here, it isn't good for me to see woman that are inappropriately dressed (half dressed)! I'm guessing most people on here are looking for a relationship and are single and desire many different things and that some of these pictures aren't healthy. I wrote to this site about this and haven't had a response back.

You are in the world but not of the world, if you walk in the spirit you will not do the desires of the flesh. Jesus walk on the face of this earth and never sinned, follow Christ and ignore the distractions.

That is why the bible teaches that we must surrender to God and resist the devil. You must totally surrender in order to recieve the power to resist the devil.

Trials and tribulations are building blocks of faith, your faith will be tested, that is how you know that you are growing in Christ by overcoming temptations. Sin will always be around and part of us, but we must resist them in Jesus name Godbless you.:prayingm:

skidoo, while this site is oriented towards Christians, it is not owned or run by Christians. Also, the ads on the side are from google, and there is very little the owners can do to control the type of ads that show up.

If it reall bothers you, you can always pay $5/month to make the ads disapear. Just click the green button above.

I wish they would delete some of the profiles of men I seen on here. They are no more Christian than the man in the Moon. :laugh:

One said he was here for fun and laughs. DUH :goofball:

Install Adblock. I haven't seen an ad on the internet since 2002. Do people really view things without it?

Believe it or not, I contacted CDFF about a month or so ago about this very thing. They said something along the lines of, they have to basically get what they can get, as far as $ from these people who post up inappropriate ads. They said they hope to eventually have enough funds to run the site with Christian ads only. Hmm...

Fortunately I'm straight, but I don't want to be seeing these scantily clad women on my screen. Lord forbid someone walks by my computer monitor. It's just not a good look. I guess I mainly contacted them about it because I thought it could possibly be a hindrance/stumbling block to some of the wonderful Christian men on this site. It's enough temptation to deal with in the world, we don't need it on "our side" too. Anyway, kudos to you for expressing your concerns! Bless you.

I use firefox and at my IT guy's request I started using adblock software. it blocks everything. It is very effective in blocking adds. I would suggest that to you.

@cobbler:

I'm surprised to hear that: I thought at the very least this site was run by Christians, if not owned? If not then I do wonder how a secular owner might benefit from offering such a free service (not to say there aren't benevolent non-believers of course, but it'd be easier to understand it all being free if set up by believers)?

This site isn't necessarily run by Christians. It's run by people who want to make money. They make money by selling ad space, and they make money by the people who are paid subscribers. "Faith" is a big selling point in dating, and so they've tried to target the demographic of people who place an importance on faith when it comes to dating.

It's a money making scheme, the same as match.com or eharmony.com or any of them.

Thank you! I knew Christian Mingle was owned by OKCupid, but I didn't know about this one. Hee, that's just as cheesy as here.
