Was John the Baptist Attractive?

Would you have been attracted to John the Baptist? An insect eating man, who had likely NEVER had a haircut in his life

Would you have found Peter attractive? Knowing fully well that he was to be crucified?

Would you have been attracted to Job? After his body covered in soars had been scraped with pot shards, and hed lost all that he had?

What about the Apostle Paul? After hed been beaten, gone naked at times, gone without food, been stoned, physically scarred and left for dead?

Are you attracted to men's weaknesses? The way God is And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Do you know how to view a man the way God does?

Or, have you been viewing Christas unattractive and undesirable in the meek and humble around you?

//" The glory of God is to hide an affair, and honor of kings is to find out; The real treasure is engraved on the inside of each person."//

I want to find love not because i want to be happy with someone.. but because i want to give my love in the time God wants =) I just look inside.

Awesome post dreamtime!

It pretty much seperates the milk guzzling pudging with baby fat christians from the lean mature Christians.

Physically? Probably not,:ribbit: though if you could see his face through the hair, then his kisses would at least be sweet as honey...

To God? Absolutely!

Two,

"IF" honest answers were given here, this post would most definitely separate mature Christian women from those who do not yet understand the enormous value that trials and God's calling bear in a man's life.

Every Godly man should care deeply about the way He's viewed by a potential "help meet". Interest shown by a woman for the wrong reasons should NOT be accepted by a Godly man at all.

"Interest" shown to Christ apart from faith was not accepted either - as in the case of the Rich Young Ruler.

Jesus asked the Rich Young Ruler "why do you call Me good?". Jesus didn't ask him this because He was not good. He asked him this because He knew the Rich Young Ruler had called Him good apart from understanding and faith, which when tested was revealed as such as the RYR walked away - from his very own Creator.

Godly men and women face this same temptation in the opposite sex every day, and they need to be on guard against it. If Christ within you, is not the focus of someone's affections, I've truly come to believe that the relationship will not last - regardless of how good it may "feel" in the beginning. If a relationship does last apart from Christ as its center, it will be to no avail.

I am not opposed to scars and hairy men but scraped sore...no!

I am so not capable of looking at a person with Gods perspective but I think I am closer to it than I was when I was 20. The worldly characteristics of a strong manly man certainly has its appeal but those things are not nearly as important as Christ-like characteristics. Things like being kindhearted, having a servants heart, being devoted to Gods word, being able to teach a Bible class, being a leader in church, or being a worker not in the spot light, being sensitive to Gods leading which takes a fair amount of humility.

According to what world thinks being a servant, humble and religious is very weak.

I happen to like the mountain man look a lot. I'd probably want my husband to brush his teeth after eating bugs before he kissed me though. Ever seen Grizzly Adams?

If they love the Lord, that's what matters, charm and beauty lose their appeal when masking an ugly heart that has no fear of the Lord.

Isaiah 53

" 1 Who has believed our message

and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,

and like a root out of dry ground.

"He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,

nothing in his appearance that we should desire him."

3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,

a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.

Like one from whom people hide their faces

he was despised, and we held him in low esteem."
