maybe I should re-word the question....

Is "spiritual" pairing more important than age in years when it comes to seeking a potential spouse? What's your opinion?

EG: You may be attracted to a guy who is 10 years younger but spiritually speaking is very mature ....would the age difference deter you? Or is spiritual growth/maturity more important to you - the key factor....or would you take both into account...

Well, at my age, someone 100 years younger than me would still be a minor...so yeah, that would be too young. It's more than just age, and it's more than just maturity level. It also has to do with life stages, life experiences, and our future life together.

I agree with parts of that and you mention future life together..this would include the older partner (possibly) dying earlier than the younger...Especially if it's a 10 year age gap...should this also be taken into consideration?

Would be nice to grow old together?

There are a lot of variables in this situation. I have dated a few guys that are 8-10 years younger and it's because many guys my age look so old and are in pretty rough shape. I like a guy that takes care of himself and exercises, eats good etc. and the younger ones seem to be better at that.

If he is okay with you being older, is willing to accept your age difference and you are compatible, I don't see it as a big problem.

My brother married a woman 10 years older and they have had a great 35 year marriage. She looks young for her age and took care of herself, ate good, stayed at a good weight and active.

It can work. :)

From a guy's perspective, sometimes you just click better with slightly older women. I would never reject a girl my age or a little younger (well, I draw the line at college freshman. The maturity difference in a freshman and sophomore is drastic) just because I have some rule about only dating older women. It just happens that way with me usually. I've had a number of girlfriends struggle to get over the fact that I was younger, but if you click, you click.

That's interesting Tulip.

Before becoming a Christian I noticed younger guys were interested in me. In fact the father of my children is 5 years younger than me. Even on this site the most interest I get is from younger men..my dilemma now as a Christian is finding someone of same age "faithwise"...
