Posted : 5 May, 2011 05:05 PM Victory, while we all have our opinions and know why we want to get married, I don�t think you will get very many people to answer. We all have our reasons, but in the Christian community there is only one acceptable answer: �I will only marry if it�s God�s will.� If you say you don�t want to be alone, then people will accuse you of setting up marriage as an idol and that as long as you have God you are never alone. If you say it�s because you want to have children, then you will be accused putting your desires before God�s plan for your life. No matter what you say it will be used to �prove� that you are not �truly� following God and that you need to get closer to him. You don�t seek marriage, it just happens whenever it�s God�s will. It�s all a bunch of hogwash if you ask me. Post Reply

Though I shouldn't admit to being "envious" :rolleyes: ... I've always envied Pastor's wives. I would love to be in that role- serving the members of a congregation in a ministry capacity. I just want to be loved by a really great guy, and I want to love him in return. I don't want to spend the rest of my life alone. Yes, I know deep in my heart that I should want to get married only if that is God's will, but I would have a really hard time dealing with it and trusting God if getting married is NOT His will. God would have to help me through that if that's the case. Post Reply

Posted : 5 May, 2011 08:10 PM because I dont have the gift of celibacy...besides, the car needs to be washed, the trash taken out and I dont have anyone to go to the mall with me...even to sit on the bench outside the stores and wait for me to come out, or wait for me to come home, plus I dont have anyone to cook for:( I look forward to the challenges that a relationship has...is that weird? and i agree with BC... and there are other things but I'll stop here :) Ministry: been there done that...it looks like gravy from the outside but it isnt. Not that I wouldnt do it again, but the next time I do, it will be with the man God chose for me and under the leadership He chooses. I also look forward to a relationship where we both want to please God, we both have convictions and we both wil admit our wrong and not be afraid to apologize. Compromising will be interesting because I've been single quite awhile but :yay: to God be the glory. Post Reply

Posted : 5 May, 2011 11:49 PM I want to get married because...I want to share my life...my love....with that special someone...to be made whole...as one...complimenting each other...an while at it fill our home with wamth of not only us but our kids...i dont want to grow old alone...i want a friend who will be there for me....a best friend....a husband who will stand by me...growin old together...seein our children growin an embracing the challenge of parenthood...an marriage...together.....with this i conclude by sayin...i will get married...in gud time..God's time...
