Felt a little weird since I'm taken, but men can't search for me so it's okay, I think. And maybe I'll do a blog review of the site! I was thinking of doing a series on dating sites anyway, as I have some horrible things to say about Christian Mingle. Anyways, here's what I found interesting/unique: 1. I really like the look and feel of the site. It's easy to use and fun. 2. On the body type selection screen, it has pictures of the body types. But it only had 5 and none of them looked like me really! It didn't have a voluptuous option, which, after Tulip's "Curvy" thread, I have decided that I am. 3. It's definitely secular and incorporates astrological signs into the profiles and the search. It lets you search for people based on sign compatibility. 4. It doesn't let you select a user name! It makes you use your first name. I lied and said that my name is Pixy. Yes, I know, I'm a bad girl. 5. Other than the astrology thing, the profiles are your basic singles site profiles... One thing that I appreciated on CDFF that they don't have there is the probe regarding whether or not you're open to relocating... 6. It seems to promote the whole empowerment of women thing... Which is okay, to a point... But, on a secular site, it can kinda turn into a feminist thing, which I hope we all know is NOT good. I think that pretty much sums it up! :goofball: Post Reply

I would like to clarify, what i said earlier, the women that USUALLY contact me on sites like these are not one I would pick. Therefore I dont believe it would be much better anywhere else. Posted : 28 Aug, 2010 09:03 PM I think their heart is in the right place -- meaning that it's got to be lame getting message after message from guys you wouldn't date if they were the last one alive. I think a better idea might be to require a guy to obtain some level of community approval (so many posts rated well, be on the site for a week, etc) and couple that with requiring a response to the initial communication he makes to a woman. The response would be simply: No, Go ahead, and Go ahead with caution -- or something similar. That would better correspond to real life and still respect men taking the initiative. Post Reply
