...about how you present yourself on sites like these and others.

1. Do not crop your pics to where it cuts off half of your body, show all of yourself

2. Do not hold your camera above your head, the camera isnt like the eye and even though it makes for a good picture its not what you look like normally so please dont do it. :)

3. Wear light colored clothing so that it reflects the light better, dont use dark clothing to hide your flaws, thats just dishonest. If a man likes you well enough and you have parts of your body that arent very attractive said man will overlook that.

4. Dont photoshop, or get artsy with your pics, just be real.

5. If you are an lady who isnt a spring chicken any more, dont put a picture of you from your glory days, as a profile pic, thats just plain dishonest.

6. Not directly related, but for this site and for the love of God and your Chistian brothers completly conceal your"girls" away, we can concentrate on being pure more if we dont see the objects of our sensual desire. Proverbs 11:22

The reason I say this is too many women present themselves as something other than what they truly are and sometimes, in my case, it is less than what I desire when i finally see them as they are. When that happens there is a severe backlash because I withdrawl, and it doesn't matter how well the conversation, or connection was. ok rant off

I've added a few more recent pictures to my profile. None of them are edited (other than cropping out the background). What do y'all think? There is one almost-full-body one, but I think the rest are just head shots.

BTW, Thanks Dennis...I rather like that one too. I do try to switch it out once in a while to keep things interesting, though. I'll probably switch in another couple days since it's been a while.

Yes , thanks But you have to agree that a lot of the pics are very small that even using the control key does not help bring the pic to a clear focus. Think out side the box son.

Wow - I can't believe he got off so easy!!! I think either many didn't see this post or they felt they would be better Christians by just turning away and not responding!!! LOL

Everyone wants to be presented in the 'best light', although I've seen many here why just make do with poor light and a webcam! This is your 'advertising' spot. If you put up only one photo I think it should be a tighter image of just your face. If you put up more images then show different aspects of yourself.

In a way, I did find a point I'd agree with the first post - that photo from Glamour Shots from several years ago, deceiving. No one wants to finally meet in person and realize this is the FIRST time you've actually seen the real them because all images you've seen were deceiving.

There is another reason women (and maybe some men) do the high camera angle, it's thought a way to hide chin/neck problems. RARELY does it look good though!

Hey, I wish I had problems with my hair being in my eyes like many years back but that only happens when the barber cuts my hair now! I am what I am. Me and God like it so there ya' go!

We are what we are! Take pictures in good light. Go get inexpensive portraits at some chain stores - Sears, Walmart. Just put it out there. Then pray a lot!

God bless,

bama

I'm sorry. I got a kick out of this advice list and thought I would write my own. Too bad the guy who put up the original post is "no longer an active member on CCDF". Hmmmm

...about how you present yourself on sites like these and others.

---------------------------------------------

Men, learn how to spell "advice"

1. Do not crop your pics to where it cuts off half of your body, show all of yourself

----------------------------------------------

RESPONSE- Men, do not wear a baseball cap in your main profile pic. If you are bald, show it off. But really, if you are bald, keep it shaved. Go for it. All the way. No comb overs.

Also, don't take pictures in a car, by a car or on top of a car. I don't care about your car.

Men should have full body shots too.

------------------------------------------------

2. Do not hold your camera above your head, the camera isnt like the eye and even though it makes for a good picture its not what you look like normally so please dont do it. :)

---------------------------------

Fair enough.

----------------------------------------------

3. Wear light colored clothing so that it reflects the light better, dont use dark clothing to hide your flaws, thats just dishonest. If a man likes you well enough and you have parts of your body that arent very attractive said man will overlook that.

-------------------------------

Eh? I am a size 6 and I wear dark colors. It has nothing to do with flaws. Light colors wash me out.

MEN: I don't care what color you wear in your photos, but solids are more flattering than prints, or I dunno, say sports memorabilia. Ugh. Make an effort to wear something other than something that says, "I just came back from a baseball game".

-----------------------------------------------

4. Dont photoshop, or get artsy with your pics, just be real.

------------------------------------

I never photoshop.

-----------------------------------------

5. If you are an lady who isnt a spring chicken any more, dont put a picture of you from your glory days, as a profile pic, thats just plain dishonest.

--------------------------------

Totally.

-----------------------------------

6. Not directly related, but for this site and for the love of God and your Chistian brothers completly conceal your"girls" away, we can concentrate on being pure more if we dont see the objects of our sensual desire. Proverbs 11:22

-----------------------------------------

I agree.

--------------------

MEN: Oh and please don't instant message me when I am online. Send an email.

Thanks,

t

I'm sorry rabbit. Right now I only have the top part of my body as I took my own picture on my cell phone. I'll try to get my daughter to take a full picture of me as soon as I can.

These are really good points ladies, don't be offended. These bits of advice are coming from one who's heart is to help you. I'd also like add; get a friend to take your picture(s), it will seem more natural, add an element of accountability, and your friend might have some good suggestions. If you absolutely have to take it yourself in a big mirror, make sure you don't capture the toilet in the background. I hope this helps.

I wish you all the Lord's blessing in your search.

Elgin.

Thank you for posting that.:applause: That is some of the best advice (most of which I have also been thinking for a while now) I have seen, and put in a wonderfully succinct and apropos manner.
