Are their typical differences between east and west coast americans?
Posted : 5 May, 2010 05:57 AM

I put this on the "ask a girl thread" but this is just pro forma. This post is addressed to all americans on this site.

What I would like to know, by curiosity:

are there many differences between americans living in one part of the country or the other?

I can understand that the climate and the environment are different but I would like to know in particular, differences in behaviour..... like if you are travelling to the other coast.... or up to the north, or down to the south.... are there "rules" or "dos & donts" that you should observe?

It might sound ridiculous but I am from a very tiny small country and even we (15 million only) are not at all the same in language, manners, greetings....

So I would really like to know IF and WHAT differences you have amongst yourselves in the USA.

Looking forward to your replies:waving::waving::waving:

I've been wanting to post and finally have a minute to think...

Missouri people are very friendly. Everyone knows each other by first name, it looks like Andy Griffith show but it's cool.(Albany, MO) they sit on their porches and wave to the passers by...but DONT go in someone elses land to fish or hunt, you WILL get shot.

California-we're always in a rush, have to be cuz of traffic...it takes 30 minutes to go 5 miles, not exaggerating, it is CRAZY

Florida-looking for air conditioner

Arizona-it's really hot there but I didnt see anyone prespiring but me. Weird...the people are ok, a bit slower paced than california.

Heck, 100 miles from where I live is slower paced, WHY COME i have to live in LosAngeles??? Hmmmmm.....

i guess i havent been to east coast, but they come to my work alot. they act like they have a secret and that accent, once you hear it you know where they're from.

I think the secret is that everyone is related somehow or knows Vinnie Barbarino.

what do you think?
