Could there be a difference?

Between hearing God's word AND knowing His word?

"Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days, there was no widespread revelation.

4 That the Lord called Samuel. And He answered, "here I am!"

Exodus 3:4

"So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "here I am"

Ok dear friends in the above 2passages,

Both these guys (and more others one can qoate) heard God speaking verbally to them.

While you & I dear mostly refere to the scriptures.

(I by no means doubt that God does talk to you verbally in your place of privacy)

I'm more interested in the differences here, between knowing His word (reading scriptures) versus knowing His voice (like the 2opening scriptures i've shared)

Your input ladies will really be appreciated by me.

You have so much to offer since I know very little about Him (God)

Maybe we can help one onother.

God bless!!

You also asked about the blood put on the doors for the first Passover...

The blood does represent Christ's redeeming blood.

The lamb was to be spotless representing Christ without sin.

*****

Exodus 12:5Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

*****

From the time of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, the shedding of blood was the redemption for sin. The use of blood in even the satanic rituals ties back to the first sacrifice. However, with Christ's shed blood, no more sacrifice is necessary.

In Egypt, the blood was placed on the door following God's explicit instruction for protection, salvation.

******

Exodus 12:13And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

******

God often used signs and wonders in the Old Testament to 'prove' who was His spokesmen, like Moses. The 10 plagues were as much to show the Israelites as it was to show Pharaoh that God was in charge. And throughout the Israelites roaming in the wilderness, God provided for them, protection, water, food, guidance...and yet they still doubted.

To think, they lived the miracle of crossing of the Red Sea and saw they're enemy, the Egyptian army drowned...and still complained. They received manna everyday and then pheasants and water from the rocks...and still doubted.

We have the written accounts of the events to look back to and put the pieces together. The various victories over major opponents...Jericho, Gideon & the Midianites, David & Goliath, Daniel & the lion's den, Jonah, etc all show the working of God...and the effects of faith in God's power.
