Posted : 10 Apr, 2011 08:20 PM It talks a lot in the bible about submission, it says that the woman should submit to her husband, and that the husband and wife should submit themselves one to another in the fear of God. I personally believe women should submit to their husbands, and that the husband and wife should to one another. This is an act of love, and fear of the Lord, and respecting one another, and I believe the woman should respect her husband. It does not say in the bible that the woman should submit to every man who wants her to do so though, it says her "husband", meaning in marriage. I know some women who've had a few guys sort of tell them it's important to be submissive towards them, and often they were trying to get them to do things that weren't right for them, or they simply wanted to argue or sort of bully them about. I don't believe this is done in the spirit of Christ,I know submission is important, BUT I believe it's between a husband and wife, and that if the wife doesn't submit it's between her and the Lord. What are your thoughts and feelings on the subject? Post Reply

I will never forget her answer. She said: "You must find a man who puts God first in his life. Only when a man can be truly submissive to GOD, and humble himself, will he truly respect and honor the lady who CHOOSES to be his wife. Because of the respect and integrity God cultivates in him, a Godly man will treat any woman he is with like a queen, and the precious daughter of Christ." I believe that women should be submissive to her husband out of respect for him, and a man should honor his wife by asking her opinions instead of dictating how things will be. When a compromise of opinions cannot be reached, and opinions differ to the point of arguing, then the woman should be respectful enough to be submissive. After all, if the wrong choice is made, God does not hold the woman responsible. The man is the spiritual authority in a marriage, and it's his responsibility to do the right thing. If he does not, he is the one who must answer for it. When a man is a real gentleman, and honors God, he will treat a woman so well that she will have no hesitation about submitting to his authority, because she trusts in him not to abuse the privilege and responsibility God gave him.
