Admin	Is confidence the key? Posted : 28 Jan, 2011 12:26 PM I've heard it alot over my 19 years of life. "You gotta have confidence!" But it was always from a guy. I never really took it too seriously. But what is the truth? Is confidence really that attractive in a male? I am quite timid around any female I like, but with Prayer I could muster the confidence. If you're fidgety or clutzy every time you meet someone you like, just take a deep breath and practice. You might try role playing with a female friend or sister to work on fidgety or clutzy. But if you're just quiet or don't know quite what to say, you might try playing it up. What if you made a line or a joke of it? "I get tongue tied around beauty. And you are beautiful." I know, that's corny, but something less corny would be good. Most everyone gets nervous when they meet people, especially people that interest them. In some situations, "confidence" is more about accepting nervousness and working past it than hiding it. Post Reply

It seems my understanding is to be that Confidence is to be humble, knowing I have all the tools to make it work, but not flaunting it, or whatever the word is, or whatever. With insecurity or pride your focus is always centered on yourself, be it negative or positive. I'm glad humility was mentioned because I think this is extremely important. Someone said there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence, but if you add humility it makes the line that much easier to walk. Then 1babygirl mentioned a spiritual confidence and I say amen! I need to be constantly reminded that I can't be confident in myself alone, but in Him who lives with in me. Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. John 15:5 �I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing..." Psalm 27 Is awesome if you are feeling like the world is against you and you need a confident reminder of the truth and the hope that you have in Christ. Philippians 1 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Now I you have some fragmented verses about confidence its up to you to read it for context. Do not to treat the above verses as some sort of spiritual fortune cookie... Good topic boxer! Post Reply
