Go for broke and take her to Vegas. That way, proposal and marriage will be done before 4th date and either of you has time for cold feet. Then, you can meet the families over the Christmas holidays. Nice little package deal.

Enjoy the first bloom of love. Hope it blossoms into everything you wish for.

Does anyone need to put ideas into your head. And I say, go for it.

Tulip,

I think you need to wait a lot longer than that!! hehe!! Take your time and then maybe after a year, then pop the question!!

Oh Godsgirl. You and that ridiculous common sense.

As far as actual timelines for proposal, I most likely graduate in spring 2012, so that would be the earliest I could get married. Assuming a 6 month engagement, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with waiting a year to propose.

Sounds like her mission trip, if it is not a clever excuse to lose contact with you, is perfectly timed! If she is still interested in you after three weeks of separation, that's probably an excellent sign. If she isn't, then she either ran off or has a short attention span, and both are probably good indicators that it wouldn't have worked.

In answer to the original question, I personally would lose all confidence in a guy that proposed on the second date, no matter how well those two dates went. Yeah, I am interested in dating and men, but I'm not desperate and don't want anything to do with anybody that gives off any vibes of desperation. Bleh!

I guess I'll just have to make this next date extra special so she can't wait for the third one in a month...

Great to hear, Tulip! Yes, the 2nd date is too early. 4th date -- that is when you should do it. Then wait until you graduate to have the ceremony. That will give you lots of time to see her in a sundress (once the weather is warmer) and for her to ride on your bike. And for your family and friends to give a thumbs up. I'm really happy for you! :applause:
