I have found recently that one of the things I need to go on record with a guy with right away is my stance on premarital sex. There was a time when this was a given but I have found "some" christians do not see premarital sex as a big deal. It is weird how many debates and weird interpretions of the bible I have heard on the subject.

For the record I believe sex is for married couples only

Your thoughs guys and gals!!:waving:

Hmmm... Yeah, I don't think people use the term here. I feel sorry for Whoopie... That's like naming your child "sex."

Yeah, they also call it the two step boogie. LOL. Anyway, I believe sex is for marriage only. It's a beautiful thing inside of marriage but unfortuantly the world has made it a dirty thing like everything else.

Two step boogie? I've never heard that term either. I'm starting to feel like I live in the Twilight Zone!

Cowgirl, you are condemning another Christian. Are you sure that you read what he said correctly? I do not think, based on his other posts, that he was making the case for premarital sex. It is far more likely that he was stating the reasons why people justify it -- and in that, he is dead on. If I am wrong, then I am wrong. But can we all agree to err on the side of love and mercy?

Steve is right about the origin of the term. It was also popularized on the original Love Connection back in the '60's.

Tulip also raises a good point. It is very difficult to move on if you have shared much with another and then need to end the relationship, be those things physical, spiritual, or emotional. And they all are related, so you need to guard your heart. Some have even called sharing how you feel deeply with many other people "emotional prostitution". Me, I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, so I'm totally offended by such a concept, but I can see how some women should exercise restraint in this area.

Yeah, I think that I wear my heart on my sleeve too. I'm not sure how to NOT be emotionally intimate with someone. If I'm attracted to a guy and there's a connection there, then it just happens. I'd have to just stop talking about myself altogether to avoid it.

And I guess that's partly why my heart is so broken now and why it's really hard to move forward =(

Silver, I will copy his whole post and then explain why I said what I did. If I was incorrect about what you said rainbowian, then I sincerely apologize.

Rainbowian said: "I look at this pragmatically. In an ideal world, one without no-fault divorce, it's best to wait for marriage. But why wait when there's a significant chance of her divorcing me, and taking half of my things, for no good reason?

And it's not just the secular crowd. The divorce rate among religious people is just as high"

Silver, he said HE was looking at it pragmatically (which to me is saying that this IS his view). He said it's best to wait in an "ideal world." This is not an ideal world. This implies that he is saying waiting doesn't matter since the divorce rate is so high, even among religious people. I never said he wasn't a Christian. Many Christians justify things this way. I justified things when I had sex with my boyfriend at the time a few years ago even though I was a Christian and knew better. But if you are looking to Christ, you will NOT think that sex outside of marriage is at all okay. I did not have my eyes on Christ and I fell away. I was still a Christian, but I lost focus on the one and only person on whom my eyes should have been. That is what I was saying. I did not mean to condemn. If that is how it came across, then I was wrong. It may have been that I was a little sick and tired of some of the stuff about adultery and fornication in other forums and may have been too harsh here. To be honest, I didn't even reread my post just now. I'm sure that if I did, I would probably find a reason to say I was not being harsh LOL. Better to NOT reread my own post and just admit that, if I was, then I was wrong. But the content of what I said was NOT wrong. It just may have been SAID wrong, which I know is not okay for me to do. But I do not believe that I misread. If I did, then I apologize sincerely rainbowian and hope that you will correct me and reword your post so that I can understand what it was that you were trying to say.

I haven't heart those ones either.

People here tend to just say "sex" or use the "F" word.
