I think this could also be turned around and asked How much does the condition of a women's car, home, etc

If you knew a woman that wouldn't keep her house, car, or appearance in order how do you think she would do when married. Would you want to have to keep running around picking up after her, or not be able to invite guests over because the house was a mess, or not be able to ride in her car without having to move piles of stuff around.

I'm not a neat freak by any means. My personal space, aka "man cave", can be categorized as controlled chaos but the rest of my house, and car, are neat and orderly. I think it's a two way street.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but how is not being interested in dating somebody because he doesn't keep his house in good shape any different than not being interested in dating somebody because he or she doesn't keep their body in good shape?

Look here, honor, tulip and mark, stop twisiting stuff around!

You could turn it around, but this is the 'ask a girl' section and the QUESTION is the condition of a man's stuff.

But to answer, it is the same thing. Your body belongs to you and is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I am plus sized and healthy. When I see that I might be getting too heavy for MY comfort, I cut back and I am well taken care of, all of me!

So what's wrong with treating your house and car the same way?

If I'm happy with the condition my house or car is in, why should it matter if it's not perfect?

You are absolutely correct. The status and condition of your house and car is completely up to you and I in no way think that anyone should be anything less than who they is (sorry 4 lapsing ghetto, happens).

We were letting you know it does effect perception.

I have no desire to be a hard-body. I walk to keep up with my cardio, but I like being soft and curvaceous. Not every guy likes me at this size. Some would like me better if I was thin, and believe it or not (mostly black and Latino men I've come across) wouldn't mind me being bigger. I stay the size I want and let the chips fall where they may. There be too many chips fallin' here!

To connect my example, I like the condition of my body and guys who don't like it move on and those who do stop to see what's up. You should do what you do armed with the knowledge that some women may pass you by based on 'how you do', cause we have varying degrees of concern on the subject.

I personally am not talking about perfection. My house can get chaotic ( I have a 9, 12 and 15 yr old). I mean oil changes, does he ignore the knock in his engine?, landscaping, does he cut his grass or is it 2 feet high?, appliance upkeep, etc.. It gives me an indication of how he takes care of his business and if I want to be his business that needs taking car of. Not necessarily a deal breaker, just something I look at.

Whether or not he takes care of what he has may be something I'd take notice of.... but I don't care what kind of car, how old it is, how much it cost, how fast it goes, etc. I think that buying old used cars is a great choice as far as being a good steward of one's money... and I plan personally to never buy a car I cannot pay for in cash up front. (whether that means buying cheap little beaters or a nicer car that I save up for, for awhile)

I am highly unimpressed by cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc... though, and would rather see a nice profile picture of the person than some random picture of their car or truck on their profile.
