Tiger Woods has everything.

Amazing career...wonderful wife...beautiful kids.

yet he could not resist temptations. How would you have handled that situation? Would you have left him? If not...what would you have asked him to do and how would you have felt and is it different because he is Tiger?

I'd have to go along with Given and browneyedgirl. When this thing first erupted, I thought, JESUS.... that's the missing piece in his life. I wonder what faith his wife is?

I can't even put myself in her shoes to be able to tell you how I'd respond. Don't even want to imagine myself in that place where they are now. ~ GraceMae

Sadly, the wife has not been allowed privacy to deal with this. Media is tooooooo involved with peoples' personal/private lives.

As for how to deal with....as mentioned by the wise ones before, a lot depends on the man himself.

Trust takes a long time to build and an instant to destroy. Rebuilding that trust would be extremely difficult. Not impossible, but extremely difficult.

All of this is of course exacerbated (in my mind) by the multiple infidelities. The blame belongs to the man AND the woman. Those women knew he was married (or at least most did). They are not innocents. To step in and help destroy a marriage...shaking head sadly at all of the above.

I cannot speak for the rest of the ladies...but I want my own fellow....not someone I have to steal from another woman. And if he would cheat on her...what is to say he would not do the same to me? Some fish are just not worth my time...I deserve MUCH better and so does the wife.

God gave us rules to follow. So may just seem to think the rules do not apply to them. And then....they crash an burn.

As Christians we are to be followers, or imitators, of God. Consider the example of our Father's way of dealing with adultery. Adultery to Him is any act of unfaithfulness. Whether it is idolatry, failing to keep the Sabbaths, keeping for yourself what is rightfully His and many others.

He shows us His views of marriage in His relationship with Israel. They repeatedly failed to be faithful to Him. He disciplined them with famine, captivity and even slavery but He never left them. He showed them His love by remaining faithful to His promises and eventually sending His son to bring redemption to them. Even though they rejected their Messiah, He remains faithful to them.

While it is true that Father allows divorce because of adultery He still does not approve of it. There will always be acts of unfaithfulness for which divorce would be ok such as domestic abuse or an unsaved person leaving a Believer.

In Tiger's case I cannot say what I would do if faced with that kind of unfaithfulness but the example to follow is to remain faithful myself and do all I can to work through it, provide forgiveness and restore the relationship.

Very nicely put, Mr. ToG.

I enjoyed reading your response. Some great points...especially where God does not walk away from us, even when we committ adultery.

Now if we can allow God to choose our spouse and be certain that they are the one God picked for us...then we can be certain that we should never walk away from them.

Until then, we are quite fallible and I would hope and pray that God has mercy on us and allows us a second chance to Glorify and Please Him.
