Okay, what about age limits?

Okay so there are NOT a lot of folks from Northeast Ohio on this site, whether you're looking for a relationship or just a friendship.

So I just found someone close that I would like to at least become friends with. Problem is, her age limits prohibit me from contacting her.

Now I'm not preaching about age limits because I have them too. But I'm a very young forty something, and I've dated girls a lot younger than this girl.

So for those of you who have imposed age restrictions, are you really certain that your age restrictions are God's? Not being condemning, just want to open a discussion. It cracks me up to see a lady say something in her profile like "I messed up on the first choice so I'm totally leaving it up to God this time..." then place an age restriction range of about 5 years, plus other filters. :)

Ain't this online dating thing COOL? lol

Deeply,

The Military taught me to think on your feet and to use whatever was available to succeed.

So...change your age in you settings to where you will be able to e-mail them and then set them back to where they should be...just don't forget to reset them.

Now Go LOve somebody!

Dennis,

That's Mother Teresa of the Dog World! Her "street" name is Patches. Isn't she Adorable? She has a Heart shaped "patch" of color on her side. She has no age limit and is "unattached". Unfortunately she no longer resides with me. :-(

Age is truly very important to some people.... and respecting their limits is sometimes something we need to do.

I do think that it stems from unknown fear most of the time, and once those limits are tried, they relax a bit. I know, because I was once one of those that wold not date a man younger than me. Then God allowed me to become involved with a man much younger (15 years) and I realized I had been very narrow minded. It is a good thing to truly allow God to direct ALL of our paths.... (not easy, but good!)

I started out with mine set fairly narrow and came to that same conclusion of "who am I to say who God wants me to connect with?" However, I reconsidered when I got emails from people in my son's age range (Sorry, I've already raised my children) and men approaching my Dad's age (that is creepy too). I changed it to what I consider a very generous range and would have to have to take it on a case by case basis for someone on either extreme of my limits. I would prefer a cohort that grew up experiencing the same things like moves of God, national/world events, culture etc that I did and be in my general stage of life. My son, who is often wise beyond his years said "Mom, being in different life stages would never work long term." Anyway, that is my two cents worth. Put it with a $1.50 and you might be able to buy a Coke, lol.
