Hey, I just had a week long email conversation on CDFF with a guy who ended up informing me that because I disagreed with him in regard to how I was using a certain spiritual word (which was different from how he was using a certain spiritual word), I was not a Christian. The word is unimportant, mostly cause I would like an answer to the question I pose below, and not a discussion on who was right in our views.

In response to this final email, I blocked him from being able to email me again . . .

I am just wondering if you all have had some sort of similar experience and how you have dealt with it? How do you deal with this type of conversation over email?

Thanks!

my dear sister, first of all, you know in your heart that you belong to Jesus. being in Christ doesn't mean we will be perfect right away. so maybe there's a part there he's wrong, there's a part there that you were wrong. there's a part he's right, and a part where you're right. at the end of the day, even if you did wrong, Jesus has a promise the there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. my dear sister, you are not condemned. you are set free. and similarly, you are free to forgive our brother. may the Lord bless your heart of humility. hope everything turns out well.

I am not questioning my part in the matter, or if I am a Christian (cause I know that I am) . . . just wanted to know if anyone else has run into this type of issue and how they managed to respond to this persecution. Wanted to know how others have responded to this same situation.

I have been told I am not a Christian. I ask how they know they are a Christian and how they believe someone gets saved. I present the gospel, what I believe, and my testimony. If they do not believe that I am saved after that, I move on. There is no use arguing or discussing with someone who has a difference in how someone is saved.
