I love America, I love freedom, and I love representative democracy. Why on earth would I be concerned about a wedding for some foreign crown that my ancestors fought so valiantly to free us from?

Tulip: because it's a fairytale come true. Look at all the profiles of women that say that they are "looking for my prince".

It's not about politics, it's about the charm.

I didn't watch it. I did laugh at the jokes Mike and Mike in the morning made about it on ESPN2 this morning though. Not sure what that says about me. :goofball:

I'm not fanatical about it like some people are, but I do find it a bit interesting. Here in the good ol' USA, we don't have a "Royal Family" like they do in England. Over there, a Royal Wedding is steeped in old tradition; it is different from anything we have here, and therefore it is just plain interesting.

And true, there is the fairytale aspect of it. Doesn't every little girl dream of marrying a handsome prince and becoming a princess? This is the grown-up version of all those fairytales. It doesn't mean that I want that same thing for myself, of course, but it's sweet to think that one little girl's dream came true.

Besides, the ceremony music was great! They made excellent music choices. :applause:

England is our parent. we have made up and our friends now.

They are the best ally we have. Why would you hold an event that happened 200 years ago against them.

England is our partner in Iraq and Afganistan.
