My biggest advice from experience is the guy that gives me his phone number in the very first email and says also that he is leaving this site soon.

Don't go straight for compliments, get to know her a bit more before you start with the flattery. Immediate "you're so pretty" talk can make a man look either shallow or desperate.

x Sexual innuendos

x Excessive comments about appearance-related things

x Asking if I'm a virgin

x Asking how much money I make/have

x Wanting a lot of details about my family

x Asking my for my IQ or SAT score (does it really matter?!)

x Asking why I'm still single

@Cobbler- Well, since my profile listed me (right at the top, in plain site) as being in a relationship at the time, I suppose so! Either way, it's certainly not the best opening line ever.

Calling me "sweetheart", "dearest", "honey", "sexy" or some other pet name. (save the pet names for people you know. If I wanted to be called "sweetheart" by everyone who messaged me, I would have made that my profile name.)

Pushing for a meeting in person, phone number, or e-mail.

One line intros, with nothing in the intro or the profile to respond to.

Asking for personal information (Where do you work? What's your full name? What's your e-mail? What's your phone number?)

Giving too much personal information (My e-mail address is... My phone number is... I'm a virgin-that shouldn't be the entirety of your profile or information in your introductory e-mail , IMO)

Negativity.
